    Default Haiku this!

Game is pretty simple, give a topic, and a haiku, and people have to guess what it is. Person who guesses gets to make up the next one.

This is a genre of fiction novels:

    Artificial means
    Of transformation reveals
    More about ourselves

Well, the first things that come to mind reading that Haiku are cloning and plastic surgery. Neither of those are genres of fiction novels, but cloning can be seen in Science Fiction, so...
    What is Science Fiction? /jeapardy
I'm probably really far off right now.

Sorry don't check the games forums that much. That's not quite right.

Nope, in what genre is transformation absolutely essential?

Nope. In this case, it is literal.

Superhero stories? Does that count as a genre?

Superhero stories do fit the haiku, now that I think about it, but I'm thinking of something far more sinister.

    Supervillan?

Due in part to my genetics class, I'm thinking something along the lines of genetic engineering. Is that the right direction?

There you go. The category's gothic horror but that's the gist of it.

If you think about classic horror the tropes all revolve around a transformation revealing one of the darker sides of human nature.

Vampire stories are about when we lose control of our lust.
Werewolf stories are about when we lose control of our anger.
Zombie stories are about when we lose control of any number of things, gluttony being one, rational thinking is another.
Jekyll and Hyde, you know the drill.

    Your turn, BTG.
